Return to Rowing

Dear Members,

The Management Committee have now agreed the protocols for our return to rowing from today. Worcestershire has been placed in Tier 2, which equates to a High Risk area under the latest guidelines from British Rowing.

As a consequence rowing will take place under much the same conditions as before the lockdown:

All outings must be logged on the Google booking sheets
No double outings – single outing only unless you stay on the water between sessions
Crews to be in bubbles as before. However, if you have any crew members who live in a Tier 3 area (such as Birmingham or Warwickshire) they should not travel to a Tier 2 area such as Worcestershire
As before please turn up in your kit, take out the boat, row, clean and return the boat at the end then leave.
Outdoors the rule of six applies which means that if you are in an eight all 9 crew cannot mix socially before or after the trip.
A maximum of 12 people at any one time around the boat bays and the landing stages
Please respect the cleaning and washing routines and keep yourself and other members safe. Equipment Cleaning: Boat hull, inside and out – spray and wipe with disinfectant; seats – spray and wipe with disinfectant; shoes – spray with disinfectant; blade handles – spray and wipe with disinfectant. This is a minimum. If you touch any other equipment, such as trestles or any other part of the boat, they must be cleaned too.

Indoor training is allowed in COVID secure premises and the ergo room is currently being made secure and should be operational next week when it will be available on a squad allocation basis. If you have one of the club ergos at home please contact Aidan to organise its return asap.

The weights room is still out of bounds as is the club house, toilets, kitchen and changing rooms/showers. The ergo room toilets may be used in an emergency.

See you on the water!
