Lockdown 3

Dear Members,

As we are starting a new national lockdown, which impacts sport, I thought that this would be a good opportunity to update you on what this means for the club.

Club house, bar, ergo room, weights room

Unfortunately, the lockdown means that sports clubs need to close and, as such, British Rowing have advised rowing clubs that they should close their rowing facilities with immediate effect.
As a consequence, during this time:
• they advise affiliated clubs to close all facilities;
• indoor training facilities should be closed;
• intra-club competition, private matches and affiliated competitions should not take place; and,
• inline with other pubs and restaurants, hospitality facilities may operate as takeaway only (although in the vast majority of cases this is probably not practical for rowing clubs).
This means that the club house, boathouse, ergo and weights room together with the landing stages and car park areas are closed.

Club Equipment

The Captain and Vice Captains will be in touch with Squad Captains about the loaning of club ergo’s to members during the lockdown.
Regarding weights and training equipment the Committee has decided not to loan this out during the current lockdown.

Membership

Thank you to all Members who have supported the club during the last year. During the current lockdown, The Committee has agreed to offer a 25% reduction on all rowing memberships (Full Rowing Member, Veteran Rowing Member, First Year Novice, Student/Under 23 Member, Junior Member).
This will take effect from 1st of February for 3 months, reason being most people have already paid their subs for January. To take advantage of this reduction please adjust your own standing order. Full Racking fees remain payable.

Let us hope that the lockdown is as short as possible and that when we can go rowing again we will be able to train for some meaningful competition this year!
