08 Feb Head of the Severn- CANCELLED

Dear All

It will come as no surprise to many, but alas we have decided to cancel next Saturdays Event .

As per the pictures included we are currently under about two feet of Water in the boathouse, with the centre of the racecourse
more resembling a boating lake.

Whilst the river could do one of its miracle drops in time to a level to run with, the facilities for trailer parking and boat rigging would most likely still be under water or at the very least waterlogged.

We did consider offering the option of three laps around the horse racing course!

It is such a shame as we had a really great entry with an amazing number of eights and lots of high quality crews across the board, including many famous University boat clubs.

Having to cancel is especially tough, as with so many other events in the season being cancelled so far, I think we are all itching to get out there and compete.

We offer a great regatta in May, so hopefully you will attend. It had a large entry in 2025 and ran precisely to time in great sunshine. So we hope you will take the time to come and make up for so many lost race meetings this season.

From all of us at Worcester Rowing Club, we thank very much for supporting not only us, but the West midlands Rowing scene.

We hope to see you all again.

Refunds will be processed over the next 24 hours if not sooner.
