09 May Wallingford Regatta
Worcester Senior Squads had a great time at Wallingford recently.
Men – Huge effort from the senior men today representing the club at Wallingford regatta.
After coming 4th in the toughest heat of the event alongside clubs that were strong in the 4- last season. We made it to the repechage alongside the other 5 fastest non heat winners.
We then went onto come 4th again in the rep. Losing out to two city of Bristol boats and one from Star. Purely based on heat times we were the 8th fastest crew out of 24 in the event which is huge for such a small squad.
Senior Women’s day out at Wallingford
A long day for a large number of girls on Sunday saw the 8 sneak through the heats into the final in the morning division in Club 8s. We then improved on our heats performance and came a close 3rd behind City of Bristol.
The afternoon division had 3 4-s racing in Club 4-s. All crews had solid races, with the A and B boats getting through to the repechage with only a second splitting them from heats. The rep was the 4th 2k of the day for all 8 in these 2 4s and the B boat got the better start getting through to the final. The final was nearly the last race of the day, with the crew coming 6th.
A very tiring day for all involved, well done to the senior men’s 4- and the dev women’s 4+ for your races too. Don’t think we have had such a presence at Wallingford in terms of seats raced for quite some time.
